FOOTSCRAY TUESDAY DIVISION 2 FUTSAL LEAGUE: Semi final time saw some heart-stopping futsal. Aryam and the Diaz Brothers were locked at 6-6 after full time and the game went into extra time with golden goal rule applying; the first period ended goalless but within 10 seconds of the second period of extra time, a lightning strike by the Diaz Brothers rocketed into the far post and bounced into the goal leaving the Aryam goalkeeper helpless. The crowd went ballistic as did the Diaz Brothers who advance to the Grand Final after last season's disappointment in missing out by a whisker. The Diaz Brothers play Brazuka who later on gave United Flair an old fashioned belting to the tune of 8-1, remniscent of last season's semi final. Reservoir Dogs handed the Dealers similar treatment 9-1 while Balls of Steel had a fight on their hands against The Kents who would simply not go away but held onto a close 8-4 win. Next week's grand finals are tipped to be an exciting affair with some classy teams who have played well all season going head to head for the ultimate prize.
FOOTSCRAY WEDNESDAY DIVISION 1 FUTSAL LEAGUE: The Devils gave Bust A Move a 13-2 shallacking in the first game of the night. Newcomers Arjoboys FC put up a tremendous challenge to the classy Blue Panthers by fell short by 2 goals come final siren while Futsoldiers gave the Footscray Reds a fright but the Reds' boat was steadied and clung onto a 7-6 lead to win. White Tails outplayed Joga Bonito in an exciting 8-5 packed with great passing and classy goals.
FOOTSCRAY THURSDAY DIVISION 2 FUTSAL LEAGUE: iUnited struggled to find their season-defining form against The Plum-ers as they went down 5-2. They couldn't penetrate the defence of The Plum-ers, who had the best defence in the league. In the other Division 1 semi final, Inter-Me-Nan went down to an impressive Pinksilver FC 5-3 with the goalkeeper of Pinksilver playing the game of his life by denying Inter's offensive onslaught. Portugool struggled against a classy and quick-footed Victoria Lions losing 8-1 while The Shaggers dealt a similar fate to CD Fas by winning 11-4 in the other Division 2 semi final.
ELWOOD MONDAY DIVISION 1 FUTSAL LEAGUE: CGS Boys showed the Boomshankas what they're made of by dealing them a 14-4 demolition; similarly, The All Stars beat Flair For Futsal 18-7, Upskirters thrashed Lazy Boyz 15-7 and Elwood Victory eased over Hawaii 5-0 by 10 goals. Israel FC had to do it hard against Provisional Celtic but eventually claimed a hardfought 9-6 victory in style while Beitar Caulfield bounced back from last week's loss to overcome Massive Attack 6-3.
ELWOOD WEDNESDAY DIVISION 2 FUTSAL LEAGUE: 8-1 was the final score between Team Barloworld v Trouties and Dave FC v Melbourne Celtic in two pretty onesided matches. Snivlers Reunited defeated Agentina 7-2 in a close game not reflected on the scoreboard while Oz-UK claimed back to back victories by downing The Biggest Losers 8-6 in a thriller. Los Canibales Quebrantehuesos claimed their second victory in as many weeks against bottom of the table 12345's by 3 goals while Gary Was Wrong and King of Tonga "rematched" last week's game eventuating in a Gary Was Wrong victory by a 5-1 scoreline.
