Aussie Indoor Sports have venues offering Futsal Leagues in inner Melbourne, Victoria. One of these venues is located in Mount Waverly at the Mount Waverley Secondary College (Senior Campus).
Futsal – also known as Indoor Soccer, is believed to have been invented in the 1930′s in South America. Nowadays, Futsal is played professionally in countries all over the world including Australia, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, USA and Russia.
Just like any competitive sport, Futsal has a defined set of match rules. AIS requires Futsal teams to consist of at least five players, with a minimum of two female players on the court at all times when playing a mixed match. A Futsal game consists of 2 x 18 minute halves, with penalty shootouts if a tie occurs.
Due to Futsal being an indoor sport, it can be played all year round. Generally, Aussie Indoor Sports has seasons running for 16-20 weeks. It is important to remember that Futsal players play at their own risk. Aussie Indoor Sports accepts no liability for any injury that a player might receive during the course of a game.
